1. General Introduction
The Faculty of Civil and Industrial Construction (DD & CN) Student Union is a unit directly under the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, and has the largest number of members in the university with over 4000 members. In the 2020-2021 academic year, the Faculty of Civil Engineering Student Union managed a total of 81 sub-branches and one staff sub-branch. The Executive Committee of the Student Union consists of 11 members, including one secretary, two vice-secretaries, and eight committee members. In its student union activities and student movements, the Executive Committee maintains close contact with the Faculty Dean, specialized departments, and the homeroom teachers of the affiliated sub-branches.
Furthermore, the Student Union of the Faculty of Civil Engineering & Construction is a part of the Student Union of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, under the Hanoi City Student Union. The Union is a core member in organizing activities of the Student Union, clubs, and teams. In the university's student union activities and movements, the Union acts as a bridge between the Union and the Student Union, student clubs, and teams.
Since its establishment, the Faculty of Civil Engineering - University of Civil Engineering has consistently had a large number of students with high entrance exam scores, many of whom have graduated with excellent academic achievements, and many have continued their studies at the master's and doctoral levels in Vietnam and at universities in France, the USA, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, Singapore, etc. Therefore, the Faculty's student union has been striving to implement unique student union activities and movements, providing opportunities for student union members to showcase their abilities, creating many healthy playgrounds for interaction, learning, and solidarity among the student branches. With a force of young, enthusiastic, and talented members, the student union always actively strives to complete its tasks well and achieve many accomplishments, making the Faculty of Civil Engineering's student union one of the leading units in student union work and youth movements of the university.

2. Functions and Responsibilities
The Faculty of Civil Engineering and Construction's Student Union operates as a socio-political organization for young people and students. The Student Union is under the direct guidance of the Standing Committee of the Youth Union of the University of Civil Engineering and the Dean's Board of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Construction. The Student Union's function is to lead the Youth Union's activities and youth movements within the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Construction. In addition, the Student Union plays a role in establishing and managing clubs and teams affiliated with the Faculty of Civil Engineering (e.g., Student Volunteer Team, Women's Club, Specialized French Club).
The Executive Committee of the Student Union has the following main responsibilities:
- Closely coordinate between the Student Union and the University's Youth Union in organizing and implementing union activities.
- Advise the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Civil Engineering on organizing practical and beneficial activities and movements aimed at union members and young people (academic activities, arts and culture, sports, youth volunteer activities).
- Focus on educating young people about ethics, revolutionary ideals, and building dreams and aspirations.
- Promote the movement of learning, creativity, Olympic competitions, and student scientific research, and encourage youth union members to actively participate in the activities of the Youth Union organization.
- Promote the "Five Good Students" movement.
- Proactively recommend outstanding union members to the Student Party Branch for training and consideration for Party membership.
- Pay close attention to the activities of youth union branches, clubs, student volunteer teams, and extracurricular activity models that support learning, in order to create conditions and provide timely guidance so that the youth union's movements become increasingly effective.
3. Outstanding Achievements
Along with the growth in the number of student union members, inheriting the experience of previous generations of union leaders, and with the participation and contributions of talent and effort from all affiliated branches, the Faculty of Construction's inter-branch union has made significant progress and achieved many accomplishments that have been recognized and rewarded by the University Youth Union, the Hanoi City Youth Union, and the Central Youth Union.
Some of the outstanding achievements and awards that the student union has received during the period 2016-2020 are as follows:
- Certificate of Commendation from the Central Youth Union for the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Construction's Youth Union for its work in youth union activities and school youth movements during the period 2015-2017.
- Certificate of Commendation from the Central Youth Union for the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Construction's Youth Union for its work in youth union activities and school youth movements in the 2017-2018 academic year.
- Certificate of Commendation from the Central Youth Union for the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Construction's Youth Union branch in the period 2017-2019.
- Certificate of Commendation from the Hanoi Youth Union for the Civil Engineering and Construction Faculty's Youth Union Branch in the field of youth union work and youth movements in the University, College, and Academy sector during the 2019-2020 academic year.
- Certificate of Commendation from the Hanoi Youth Union for the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Construction's Youth Union for its work in youth union activities and youth movements during the period 2016-2020.
4. Some notable youth union activities
In each academic year, the student union members of the Faculty of Civil Engineering are always the core force participating in union activities and student movements within the work program of the Youth Union of the University of Civil Engineering. Simultaneously, the faculty's student union regularly organizes activities for its affiliated branches, and frequently organizes and coordinates extracurricular activities for its members and students. Some notable activities include:
- Students conducting scientific research.
- Students participating in the Olympiad and outstanding students.
- Organize site visits.
- Participate in the Loa Thanh Award for students with outstanding graduation projects.
- Participate in the CSC Award for students with outstanding academic achievements.
- Introduce outstanding Youth Union members to participate in the training course on Party awareness and Party development for student Youth Union members.
- Participate in supporting those affected by storms and floods.
- Organizing charitable activities for local communities and individuals in difficult circumstances.
- Coordinate the organization of the Welcome Ceremony for new students.
- Organize the traditional football tournament for students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
- Participate in the NUCE – InTech Creative and Entrepreneurship Ideas Competition and career orientation programs that are regularly organized.
Student members of the Faculty of Civil Engineering attended the Student Science and Technology Conference of the University of Civil Engineering in the academic year 2019-2020.

Student members of the Faculty of Civil Engineering achieved high results in the Mechanics Olympiad competition.
